This tour offers an immersive experience into the heart of Sumatra’s jungle, providing close encounters with wildlife, especially the endangered orangutans, and a taste of local culture and hospitality.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Medan and Transfer to Bukit Lawang

Pick up from Medan hotel/airport, journey four hours to Bukit Lawang by air – conditioner car, relax remaining the day, accommodation. If you have time you could visit the bat cave or you can do village tour by Tuk-tuk.

 

Day 2

Jungle Trekking and Orangutan Encounter (2D/1N)

The tour will begin after breakfast around 9:00 am. Our expert guide will pick you up at the hotel , we will pass the rubber plantation and that takes approximately about 15 minutes before entrance the National park. If we’re lucky in this plantation, we could see the monkeys who eat the rubber fruits.

Once we arrive at the border of Mt.National park, our experience guide will give you a briefing how to behave in the jungle. Walking for about 5-6 hours to search of the animals together, if we’re lucky we’ll see animals such as sumatran orangutan( pongo abelii ), Thomas leaf-monkey, silver leaf-monkey, Siamang (black gibbon), white-handed gibbon, pig-tailed macaque, water monitors, sumatran peacock, red giant flying squirrel, malayan giant squirrel, hornbill, etc. Our expert guide will explain to you about endangered orangutans behavior and other animals, also will explain to you about the medicinal plant that grows in the jungle and often used  by villagers.

At 13:00 we stop for a break. For lunch we provide our fried rice wrappers from home. After lunch we also provide tropical fresh fruits. We have pineapple, bananas, oranges, passion fruit  and watermelon.

After lunch, we continue our jungle tour to watching the orangutans and other animals while heading to the campsite. Upon arrival at the campsite you could go to the river for a swim or relax while enjoying tea or coffee. After dinner we playing cards or make campfire with the team. If the weather is good we can go fishing in the river. We spent the night in the jungle, an amazing experience.

 

Day 3

Continue the trek and rafting back

After breakfast we explore the area around the campsite for 2-3 hours. Or if you prefer you can stay at the riverside to observe the wildlife. There’s also a nice waterfall we can visit. We will have noodle soup and  fruit salad jungle style for lunch. After our lunch we will raft back to the hotel by the traditional tube rafting. We will arrive at the hotel around 15.00. Rest of the day free for leisure.

 

Day 4    

Journey 3 to 4 hours to Medan/airport

  • Breakfast: Final breakfast at the hotel.
  • Return to Medan: Transfer back to Medan for your flight home or onward travel.
