Not every visitor needs full Customs registration. The correct route depends on whether you use roaming, a temporary tourist SIM or an Indonesian SIM for longer-term use.

Visiting for 90 days or less?

Staying longer or using the phone permanently?

Declare the foreign-bought phone and complete Customs IMEI registration. The current passenger allowance is up to USD 500 for declared personal goods; import charges may apply to the taxable excess.

Since 1 September 2025, travelers are directed to complete the arrival declaration through the official All Indonesia portal. If you need permanent Customs IMEI registration, declare the device before leaving the international arrivals area.
