Arrival, rainforest adventure and an easy return to Medan

Three days give you enough time to arrive without rushing, settle into Bukit Lawang, spend a full day exploring the rainforest and return to Medan with your transport already organised.

On the second day, an experienced local guide leads you through the tropical forest of Gunung Leuser National Park. The trek offers a chance to observe orangutans and other wildlife moving freely in their natural habitat, while learning about rainforest plants and local conservation.

After lunch in the jungle, continue toward the river, relax beside the Bohorok and return to the village by traditional tube raft. Your final morning begins with breakfast before the private journey back to Medan.

Responsible wildlife tourism

See the rainforest without disturbing it

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed because the animals move freely. Always follow your guide’s instructions, maintain a respectful distance, never touch or feed wildlife and take all rubbish out of the forest.

A meaningful wildlife experience protects the animals, supports local people and leaves the forest as wild as it was before we arrived.
