Depending on your arrival time, spend the first day exploring the village, visiting the Bat Cave or simply relaxing among tropical greenery. The following morning, meet your licensed local guide for a three-hour trek in Gunung Leuser National Park, with opportunities to observe orangutans and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
After your jungle lunch, return to the village by traditional tube raft or walk back on foot. There is time to shower and change before the private return journey to Medan.

Is this the same as the two-day overnight jungle trek?
No. This package includes one night in a Bukit Lawang guesthouse or hotel and a three-hour trek on the second day. It does not include camping overnight inside the rainforest.
Can the tour begin at Kualanamu Airport?
Yes. Pick-up can be arranged from Kualanamu Airport or an agreed hotel or location in Medan. Share your arrival details when requesting availability.
Is the Bat Cave always included on day one?
The cave visit depends on your arrival time, local conditions and the agreed itinerary. When arrival is later, you may instead explore the village or relax at the accommodation.
Is seeing an orangutan guaranteed?
No wildlife sighting can be guaranteed. Orangutans and other animals move freely in their natural habitat. Your local guide will use experience and knowledge to provide the best responsible opportunity to see wildlife.
Can children join this package?
Families are welcome, but trekking suitability depends on each child's age, walking ability and current trail conditions. Provide the ages of all children before booking.
Can we continue to Berastagi or Lake Toba instead of returning to Medan?
Yes, onward private transport may be arranged at additional cost. Ask for a personalised offer when you send your dates and destination.
